In 1994, while serving as a missionary in Romania, Darrell Roberts and his wife Kim received a burden from the Lord to train, equip and send workers into the Harvest field. In obedience to this burden, they returned to the United States and began equipping and training missionaries to reach the unreached with the love and message of Jesus. Based on the prayer of Jesus himself (Matthew 9:37-38), Harvest Equippers was established.
Since then, we have had the privilege of ministering in 16 different nations, equipping and establishing long-term missionaries, birthing and supporting churches, running short-term mission projects and seeing well over 100,000 people make commitments to Jesus.
Harvest Equippers is a missions organization that exists under the covering of Living Water, a local church in Boone, NC, where Darrel is currently the pastor. Living Water is also the covering for New Life Campus Ministries at Appalachian State University. Through 25 years of discipleship at the University, Living Water and Harvest Equippers have raised up dozens of long term and short term missionaries with the training they need to be effective ministers of the gospel both here and abroad. In fact, many of our current long-term missionaries were discipled, equipped, and trained through our campus ministry. God is continuing to do a great work in us to change the world for His glory!
In 2012, Harvest Equippers will be sending mission teams into China, and Nicaragua.
We currently have long-term missionaries in China, Australia, and Nicaragua.
